The Chix Fund

Nobody should have to pick between their pet’s life and paying their rent!

In 2013, after languishing for many years in a shelter, a beautiful pit bull named “Pretender” was adopted by a loving family. They soon learned that Pretender (aka “Chix”) had serious medical issues including serious heart disease and multiple tick-bourne diseases. It took over a year to accurately diagnose Chix and the bills for all the diagnostic tests and treatments were astronomical. Chix also has an adopted sister, Marley, with special medical needs. Her parents have been amazing and made tons of sacrifices in order to get their dogs the best medical care available. However, they do not have unlimited funds and so their treatment options are limited. The Chix fund was started to help Pretender, Marley and other special needs pets receive the medical care that they deserve.

Since it’s inception, the Chix fund has helped many pets receive medical treatment that their people otherwise could not afford. We are proud to now be included on Razoo, so that we can continue raising money for those who are so loving and amazing with their fur-babies that they will sacrifice anything to provide them with the help they need. We are here, in turn, to help those people.

(Our most recent success story is Teri, a 6yr old Rat Terrier, who was left paralyzed after a series of strokes. After our fundraising efforts, Teri was able to receive full medical treatment and is now walking again!)
